Meet Sarah & Team
Sarah Jepson
MSN, APRN, FNP-BC Medical Director and Owner Sarah Jepson is the founder and medical director of The Refinery Medical Aesthetics. With over two decades in healthcare, she brings a clinical approach to aesthetic medicine. Her background includes emergency medicine and pediatric primary care, giving her a well-rounded view of health, wellness, and patient safety. Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baker University in 2002 and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2007. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed in the state of Kansas. Since entering medical aesthetics in 2022, she has built her practice around thoughtful planning, technique, and individualized treatment.
Melissa Deister
DNP, APRN, FNP-BC Family Nurse Practitioner Melissa Deister is a dedicated provider with a passion for both functional medicine and medical aesthetics. Born in the Philippines and raised in Germany and northern Utah, she brings a global perspective and a strong sense of resilience and adaptability that shape her approach to patient care. Melissa began her healthcare journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant in high school, where she discovered her passion for helping others. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emporia State University in 2016 and spent the next eight years in acute care at a Level-Two Trauma hospital, where she gained expertise in post-surgical recovery and complex care management. In 2024, she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Kansas Medical Center, specializing in family practice. Melissa is currently completing her certification in functional medicine, which focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness through evidence-based care, nutrition, and lifestyle support.
Madison Metzger
Patient Experience Coordinator Madison brings several years of experience as an administrative assistant in a busy dental and oral surgery office. She is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Allen County Community College and applies the same enthusiasm for learning and growth to her work at The Refinery. She is often the first welcoming face patients see when they come through the doors at The Refinery and plays a key role in creating a smooth, supportive experience from the moment they arrive. Outside the clinic, Madison enjoys golfing with her fiancé, walking her two poodles, and planning her winter wedding.

The Refinery Medical Aesthetics was created to offer a quiet alternative to fast-paced aesthetic clinics. My goal is to give each patient a focused, respectful experience. No pressure. Just honest advice, well-researched treatments, and realistic outcomes. Every treatment is overseen by board-certified medical providers to ensure safety and results you can trust.
I believe aesthetic medicine should be part of a broader conversation about health, confidence, and long-term wellness. The treatments we offer here are meant to work with your natural features, not against them.
